The Border Technical College was disbanded soon after the merger, and the Council transferred its Business Studies programs to the East London Campus and its Engineering Division into St Marks Campus. Both Business and Engineering Studies Report 191 programs were still available at the John Knox Bokwe Campus.

Their main line of business is Vocational Education and Training. Students at BCC learn both practical and theoretical knowledge for their future careers. This is to prepare students for the workforce or university-level education and training. BCC does not compromise on quality, compliance, or good governance when providing Technical Vocational Education and Training.
