Application for Nsfas at Buffalo Tvet College for the academic year 2024-2025 academic will be opening and closing on the below dates:

• Buffalo Tvet College Nsfas Online Application Open Date 2024-2025: Buffalo Tvet College students are to start applying for Nsfas for the 2024 academic year on the 28th of September 2023.
• Buffalo Tvet College Nsfas Application Closing Date 2024-2025: Nsfas applications for Buffalo Tvet College students will be closing on the 31st of January 2024.

Buffalo City TVET College Nsfas Online Application Eligibility For 2024/2025

Nsfas eligible applicants are listed below:

• All South African citizens
• All SASSA grant recipients qualify for funding
• Applicants whose combined household income is not more than R350 000 per annum
• A person with a disability: Combined household income must not be more than R600 000 per annum
• Students who started studying before 2018 and whose household income is not more than R122 000 per annum.

Buffalo City TVET College Nsfas Online Application Requirements 2024/2025

All students wanting to study at Buffalo College must have the following documents before applying.

• 3 certified copies of the ID of the Learner
• 3 certified copies of the ID of the Parent/Legal Guardian
• One ID-size photo
• Copy Certified of latest school report/Grade 9 or Higher
• A unique Email address and cellphone number

MEET THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS BEFORE YOU APPLY:

• Students must enrol in more than three (3) subjects to be eligible for a bursary.
• Only students that were academically successful may apply for the next academic level.
• Buffalo City reserves the right to verify the information on the application form. This information will be treated as confidential.
• This bursary is not applicable to employer students.
• A student may ONLY apply for EITHER the transport or accommodation allowance.
• 100% class attendance is expected to qualify for the transport or accommodation allowance.
• Bursary recipients who switch from one programme to another (i.e. from NC (V) to Report 191 programme N1 – N3 or vice-versa) or change programmes within an NC (V) or Report 191 programme during the course of their studies are not eligible for financial assistance.
• Bursary recipients who complete NC (V) Level 4 are not eligible for financial assistance should they want to enrol for another NC (V) programme or Report 191 programme N1 – N3.

Similarly, bursary recipients who complete Report 191 N4 – N6 are not eligible for financial assistance should they want to enrol for another Report 191 programme N4 – N6 or an NC (V) programme.

• Bursary recipients who complete NC (V) Level 4 are only eligible for financial assistance should they want to enrol for Report 191 N4 – N6

What Does Nsfas Cover For Buffalo City TVET College Students For 2024

Amounts indicated for accommodation, living allowance, transport and learning materials need to be aligned with the approved latest DHET guidelines. Below are what the bursary covers:

• Accommodation in an urban area is R24,000 per annum
• Accommodation in a peri-urban area is R18,900 per annum
• Accommodation in a rural area is R15,750 per annum
• Transport (up to 40 km from the institution) R7,350  per annum
• Transport R7000 per annum
• Incidental/personal care allowance R2900 per annum

Applicants are to follow the below guide to apply:

1. Please visit the NSAF website – nsfas.org.za 

2. You may also choose to visit any Buffalo City Campus – Student Support Service for assistance.

3. Please ensure that you have the correct documents (certified not older than 3 months) in electronic format available:

• • Your South African ID or a birth certificate( if you do not have a green bar-coded ID or smart ID card)
  • ID of parents and/or guardian or death certificate where applicable.

4. Pay advice/letter of employment/ pension advice stating income of parents and/or guardian (SASSA slips are not
required and SASSA should not be included as household income

5. Please ensure that you download the CONSENT FORM and that it is completed by your parent/s and or guardian – this

has to be attached to your Application form – see flip-side for details.
