• Western Tvet Colege (Westcol) does not offer accommodation for its students but for students’ comfort, they allow students to apply for Nsfas bursaries to cater for the cost of accommodation in any of the private accommodation facilities nearer to the college campus.

Who Is Qualified For Westcol Accommodation Bursary

To qualify to receive a fund from Nsfas to pay for your accommodation at Westcol for 2024/2025, you must meet the below criteria:

• All South African citizens
• All SASSA grant recipients qualify for funding
• Applicants whose combined household income is not more than R350 000 per annum
• A person with disability: Combined household income must not be more than R600 000 per annum
• Students who started studying before 2018 and whose household income is not more than R122 000 per annum
• Students must be registered or intend to register on an NC (V) or Report 191 programme.
• In need of financial assistance (a Means Test is administered to determine whether or not a student meets this criterion).
• Able to demonstrate potential for academic success

For NSFAS QUALIFYING students, they receive:

• Registration & Tuition Fees
• Personal Care Allowance
• Transport Allowance/
• Accommodation Allowance

The following are the processes to follow in applying for Nsfas accommodation bursary at Western Tvet College:

• Visit www.nsfas.co.za and create your “myNSFAS” account.
• After creating your account, log in, click the APPLY tab & fill in your details.
• Upload your supporting documents & click SUBMIT. You will receive an SMS and email with a reference number
  confirming that your application has successfully been submitted.
• If you do not receive a REFERENCE number you have not successfully applied.
