The college is the result of a merger involving three previous Technical Colleges, namely Atteridgeville, Centurion, and Pretoria West. This amalgamation was officially gazetted in 2001 (Notice 7311, Gazette No 240 of December 2001).

Expanding its footprint, TSC welcomed its fourth Campus, Odi Campus, in 2006. This addition was facilitated through the rezoning of Provincial borders, allowing TSC to incorporate Odi Campus from the Orbit TVET College. The evolution and growth of Tshwane South TVET College underscore its commitment to providing quality technical and vocational education following established regulations.
