For the academic year 2024–2025, Mopani South East TVET College’s Phalaborwa campus is happy to announce that they are already accepting applications. The admission forms can be downloaded from the college’s website by prospective students to get their application process started.

To authenticate the application, they must be filled out after being downloaded and be accompanied by the required documents as specified by the college. Starting in September 2024, applicants can submit their applications online for Phalaborwa TVET College. The institution offers engineering and business training that directly addresses South Africa’s development demands for talented personnel in engineering, financial, and management disciplines, as well as skilled artisans, IT technicians, tourist and hospitality industry professionals, and finance.

Requirements Needed For Admission to Phalaborwa Campus

To meet the fundamental requirements for entrance to NQF Level 2, applicants must pass Grade 9 or higher, or have a NQF Level 1/ABET Level 4 certificate, or an approved bridging program established for the express purpose of accessing NQF Level 2 or a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) assessment.

Admission Requirements for NCV Programs

N4 applicants must complete Grade 12 and meet the minimal prerequisites for admission to a Diploma program. To rewrite a failed subject, N5 requires an N4 certificate or three topics passed at a prior level, as well as proof of enrollment. To rewrite a failed subject, N6 requires an N5 certificate or three topics passed at a prior level, as well as proof of enrollment.

Duration of NCV Programs

A minimum of 18 months of theory, six months per level (1 semester), and 18 months of practical practice is required (2000 hours)

NOTE: Students who have completed the N6 Certificate and have 18 months of relevant practical experience are eligible to apply for the National N- Diploma (M+3).

NATED/ Report191

The college also offers NATED/Report 191 programs both in Engineering and Business Studies. NATED/Report 191 programs are delivered under the auspices of the Department of Higher Education and Training.

Admission Requirements

N4 A prospective student must have passed Grade 12 with minimum requirements for admission to a Diploma (relevant
subjects may be required in certain fields)/ Passed National Senior Certificate or NC (V) Level 4-relevant field.
N5 requires an N4 certificate or three subjects passed on the previous level plus proof of enrolment to rewrite a failed subject N6 requires an N5 certificate or three subjects passed on the previous level plus proof of enrolment to rewrite a failed subject.
