Eligibility Criteria For Awarding The NSFAS At SWGC
- Only South African citizens are eligible for the bursary initiative.
- Students must also be registered as Report 191/Nated or NC (V) students.
- The bursaries are exclusively given to students who have financial need (poor) and are intellectually successful.
- Every student will be given a Means Test to determine their financial neediness. (This means that not all students who qualify for a bursary will receive the same amount).

You will need certified and scanned copies of the following documents to apply for the NSFAS bursary:
- Latest Academic Results/Identity Documents/Birth Certificate
- Proof of parental income (if both parents work)
- Certificates of Death (if one or both parents have died)
- Certificate from a doctor (If permanently disabled)
How To Apply For The NSFAS
- Prospective Students interested in studying at the College on an NSFAS Bursary must APPLY ONLINE at http://www.nsfas.org.za/content/.
- Although manual NSFAS applications will be facilitated, students must apply to NSFAS directly online!

Things To Know About Your NSFAS Application Status
- Applicants who apply online are not permitted to apply again using a paper-based application.
- Please note that acquiring a student number (reference number) does not imply that you have formally registered as a student.
- Please keep in mind that you will be required to take the CAP Test on campus.(The test provides pupils with information and education about a variety of career opportunities. At the same time, it assesses the student’s personal interest in the many professions available.)
- Incomplete applications may cause your application to be delayed in being processed.
- The continuation of a program is contingent on a sufficient number of people enrolling.
