Primary agricultural production includes harvesting and fruit collection, milking and animal rearing, fishing and hunting, and collecting forest fruit and herbs, as well as handling, transport, and storage of primary agricultural products at the production site, resulting only in a product that has been subjected to no other technological procedure after harvesting, collecting, or fishing/hunter.
The course is designed to teach the student the broad principles regarding farming activities such as animal-and soil production, as well as how to run the farm as a business. The goal of this program is to teach both theory and practice of primary agriculture. The practical component of the program may be delivered in a real or simulated workplace setting. Admission Requirements For Primary Agriculture
For admission into NC(V) programs students must pass an NQF level 1 qualification in one of the following ways:
- Grade 9
- AET Level 4
- General Education and Training Certificate (GETC)
- The use of the RPL assessment program to determine equivalence to NQF Level 1, and PLP results.

Course Duration
- This qualification takes three years to complete.
- Each of levels 2, 3, and 4 will take the one-year full-time.
- Every level of study carries 130 credits.
