Although some schools provide Higher Certificates at Level 5 with 120 credits, the colleges mostly offer courses on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) from Levels 1 to 4.

The two main courses offered by TVET colleges are:

  • National Certificate (Vocational) qualifications, the NC (V), and
  • National Accredited Technical Education Diploma (NATED) programs, also referred to as “Report 191” programs.

TVET colleges offer the following additional qualifications and programs:

  • Selected UNISA and other qualifications registered on the NQF,
  • Occupational work-integrated programs: learnerships and apprenticeships, as well as trade tests,
  • Skills programs and non-formal short courses, and
  • National Senior Certificate for learners who want to complete their school education.

The online application for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Colleges for 2024 starts on April 1 and closes on November 30. As a result, anyone interested in applying to TVET College Online should do so before the deadline.

Before applying to college, you must provide the following documents:

All applicants starting a new qualification are required to upload the following certified documents:

  • Birth Certificate/Identity Document (Proof of application for new ID/Passport)
  • Certificates/Qualifications
  • Recent Academic results
  • Municipal billing document/other account statements (not older than 3 months)
  • A valid study permit (Foreign national students)
  • The South African Qualification Authority’s (SAQA) Evaluation Certificate (foreign qualifications).

Step 4: Submit your application

A confirmation email will be sent to you with all the application information.
