False Promises: The Legal and Ethical Implications of Buying Your Matric:

Participating in the purchasing and selling of a Matric certificate, according to Umalusi, is a criminal offence. People claiming to view Umalusi Matric certificates on digital media have been warned by Umalusi.

In South Africa, the National Senior Certificate, or NSC, is a high school diploma and a school-leaving certificate. Because grade 12 is the matriculation grade, this document is frequently referred to as the matriculation (matric) certificate. The official passing grade is 40%. In most subjects, the average grade is around 55.

The current matriculation (matric) certificate is the National Senior Certificate (NSC), with grade 12 being the matriculation grade.
The NSC, formerly known as the Further Education and Training Certificate or FETC, effectively replaced the Senior Certificate in 2008, after being phased in beginning with grade 10 in 2006.
