Without matriculation, is nursing an option at TVET College?

You can, but it will take more time to get there. Before doing anything else, you must pass a TVET college’s Health course. It simply calls for Grade 9. You will complete three National Certificate (Vocational) levels, which will provide you an NC(V) at NQF level 4, the equivalent of a Matricula.

Matriculation or Senior Certificate before 2008

1-Year Diploma in Medical and Surgical Nursing Science with specialization in Critical Care [General]

• Appropriate Qualification in Nursing (Diploma/Degree)
• Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse
• Study Leave from the Employer.
