In other words, a student receives education and training with the goal of pursuing a specific set of jobs, employment, or entrepreneurial opportunities. TVET qualification will equip students with the necessary vocational and occupational skills to find work in South Africa.

TVETs are the vehicle for a new skills revolution in South Africa, which lacks the engineering, industrial, construction, agricultural, and other skills required to build a strong economy. Documents you need to require at Maluti TVET College:

A year-end school report for Grade 9 or Higher
NQF Level 1 Qualification (STD 7/Form 2/ABET 4)
Preference will be given to Grade 11 & 12 learners
The placement test is compulsory to enable the College to refer a learner to a suitable program grade 9 or higher with a pass% in English as follows:
Grade 9 – 60% (AL4)
Grade 10 – 50 (AL3)
Grade 11 – 45 % (AL2)
Grade 12 – 40% (AL2)

The following subjects are compulsory for each level:

English 1st Additional Language
Mathematics
Life Orientation

NC (V) PASS REQUIREMENTS:

WHAT ARE THE PASS REQUIREMENTS FOR NC (V) NQF LEVEL 2 – 4:

In order to progress to the next NQF Level students have to pass all SEVEN subjects. Once all 21 subjects have been passed successfully the NC (V) Qualification is obtained.

The pass requirement for the four vocational subjects is 50% per subject.

The pass requirement for fundamental subjects is as follows:

Life Orientation 40%
English 1st Additional Language 40%
Mathematics/Mathematical Literacy 30%
Only one fundamental subject may be condoned for a maximum of 5%. No component for Vocational subjects. (T’s & C’s apply).
Should the student fail, he/she may be required to repeat the failed subject to obtain valid ICASS marks.
