Which TVET Colleges Are Still Open For Applications For 2024

Many ambitious students are ready to take their next step towards a better future through vocational education as the new academic year draws near. There is good news if you haven’t applied yet or are thinking about applying late. For the 2024 academic year, a number of TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) colleges in South Africa are still accepting applications. We’ll provide you tips on which TVET institutions you can apply to in this article and explain why this change is worthwhile to take into account.

There are fifty registered and accredited public TVET Colleges in South Africa which operate on around 364 campuses spread across the rural and urban areas of the country. Public TVET Colleges are established and operated under the authority of the Continuing Education and Training Act 16 of 2006 and resort under the Department of Higher Education and Training. Technical and Vocational Education and Training (abbreviated TVET) comprises vocational, occupational, and Artisan education and training as offered by TVET Colleges.

TVET Colleges Admission Requirements

All qualified applicants wanting to study at the College must make sure they have the following available before attempting to apply:

  •  A certified copy of your ID
  • Latest school results
  • Proof of Residence
  • Valid Email Address

Foreign students

  •  Certified copies of passport
  • SAQA-approved foreign qualifications
  • Proof of medical insurance or cover
  • Valid study permit

How To Apply To TVET Colleges
1. Visit the college website to download the application form

2. Fill all the space
3. Choose a course that fits your qualification
4. Provide all the important documents such as Valid ID, certified Results, or certificate
5. Provide IDs of parents and guardian or death certificate where applicable
6. International students must provide their passport ID where applicable
